To ease into animation i decided to do this.
But i am a noob at flash and although i know how to do everything animation, there are things (making things have blur and opacity, etc) which i do not understand and i hope someone can teach me this. I spent an hour trying to find a way to make a blur effect and once i finally found it.... this happened: [link]
Another thing... how in Equestria am i supposed to export a gif and movie file without them losing quality or becoming really laggy or having a ridiculously huge file size (i normally woulden't be bothered by this except when i exported this animation in .avi it was a 1.38GB file).
If you know your way around these elements of Adobe flash please tell me, i really want to know.

Download is a .swf file because its the only file type thats fast, full quality and has a normal file size

Oh yeah and Deviantart has a problem with me trying to upload .gif files -.-

Im actually not sure how to use an .swf file xD If you dowload the swf and convert it into a .avi then you can use dreamscene to set it as your desktop background.
very complicated i guess but this was mostly just a concept i wanted to test xD

A gif with a resolution this large would just be way too big (in filesize) for general consumption. It also might be too big for most browsers/computers to handle. Because the image has so many gradients and therefore so many colors, a gif (which is limited to 256 colors) is going to either look really bad or use "dithering" and be really big. Let me illustrate: I'll upload two conversions of this image into a gif, one with dithering and one without.

Dithering (1.57MB): i.imgur.com/QhUXwk2.gif
No dithering (0.94MB): i.imgur.com/KmODR10.gif

You should be able to tell the difference pretty clearly between the two.

Here's a 720p, dithered gif (2.96MB): i.minus.com/ixvMif7REpvWI.gif

One of the nice things about pony gifs is that you can get away with using very few colors and have it look good. Like this one: derpibooru.org/373998 . It has a pretty big resolution and a lot of frames, but it's only 500KB. That's because it only uses 19 colors.

I think that it was correct to upload the raw .swf and not a video or gif.

In order to export a movie file that's an appropriate size, you need to edit the .avi into a .mp4, and that can be done in pretty much any mainstream videomaking program.
